The following message was sent to families in the Hilton Central School District on October 13, 2023:
We wanted to make you aware that the New York State Department of Homeland Security, in the wake of the Hamas conflict in the Middle East, asked all schools to raise awareness and ask for vigilance against individuals and groups, particularly those ascribing to violence. While there is no credible threat at this time, we wanted to reassure you that security measures remain in place to protect our students and staff including locked exterior doors and the security vehicle patrolling on and around district properties.
Please, if YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. Call our Safe School Helpline to report and suspicious activity 1-800-4-1-VOICE, ext. 359 (418-6423) to leave the information. Or TEXT: 614-426-0240, then type: TIPS.
Thank you for your vigilance in keeping our schools and community safe.

Mrs. PJ creates an environment of trust & collaboration in her classroom. Students support each other & show excitement & curiosity about their differences by asking each other questions & making connections. From day one, she teaches her students to be curious, not judgmental.

Today we celebrate Hilton graduates Will Caruso and Lucas Edsall, and Michael Coval and Alyssa Almekinder, who are working as machine operators at Sydor Optics and attending MCC majoring in optics. The grads took the Introduction to Optical Technology course at Hilton High School, which opened the door to this exciting field. Hilton High School also offers career fairs where students can get introduced to optics companies and then take advantage of job shadowing opportunities. Once hired, they may even be able to get their college courses paid for. Ann Marie Graham, Sydor Human Resources manager, said that the Hilton grads they have hired have a good work ethic. We are proud of our grads!

Seventh grade FaCS classes are setting their table for success! Teacher Claire Drexler took to heart Superintendent Dr. Casey Kosiorek’s Opening Day message about building an organizational culture that puts people first and provides a sense of safety and belonging. Together with FaCS teachers Anna Murrer and Megan Peterson, they created a “table” across several bulletin boards outside of their classrooms and had students write their recipes for success on paper plates. “Incorporating the recipe idea supports our health sciences curriculum and goal setting,” said Drexler. “These students are our family and we want our classrooms to be their comfort zone where they feel a sense of belonging.” Shown are (l-r) Cole Lenzi, Claire Drexler, Henrey Hunsinger, Ayden Jones, Evan Smith, Special Education Teacher Jamie Melos, and Megan Peterson.
